Weather conditions: |
| The local meteorological station reported a relatively mild winter, but throughout the month of May snow fell heavy. First snow-free patches appeared on 8-10 June, goose migration started on 10 June and lasted till 18 June. After the long and cold spring warmer temperatures (+10-19^C by day) became a norm from 9-15 July. By this time no snow was left in the settlement, ice in the Kostin Shar straight was gone 2-3 days earlier, but the extent of the ice cover on lakes varied widely.

Breeding conditions:
|
| Birds are rare near the settlement. Discovered clutches of Ringed Plovers, Little and Temminck's Stints did not have any signs of hatching in mid-July. A displaying Common Snipe Gallinago gallinago which was flushed by a local hunter as late as early August was an unusual spectacle for this latitude. On 11-12 September small flocks of Purple Sandpipers, one Ringed Plover, Turnstones and a Rough-legged Buzzard were sighted in the same area.
